Affiliated Advisors, an office of supervisory jurisdiction associated with Royal Alliance, recently added three advisors with a total of more than $170 million in client assets. (Royal Alliance is part of the Advisor Group, which is acquired by Lightyear Capital from AIG.)
Scott Fitzgerald, president of Steel Ridge Advisors, is located in Islandia, New York, and has more than 20 years of industry experience as a financial advisor; he was the cofounder and principal of Vanderbilt Securities.
Tim Allen, financial advisor and founder of Tim Allen Financial Associates, has been working in the financial services industry for close to 23 years and was formerly the vice president of investments and cofounder of Vanderbilt Securities.
Frank Marano, financial advisor and founder of Marano & Company, is located in Melville, New York, and was previously the chief financial officer and financial and operations principal at Vanderbilt Securities.

Meanwhile, Snowden Lane Partners has welcomed Kieran Doherty to its Guth/Fordyce Group, based in New Haven, Connecticut. With Doherty’s advent, the group’s total client assets will be around $860 million.
Doherty, who came to the advisor group from Morgan Stanley, also worked for Deutsche Bank. With him on board, the New Haven team will include eight professionals.
Steve Fordyce, a partner and managing director, said in a statement: Doherty “understands the value of relationships in our community and has deep ties with his clients. We are excited for him to be a key contributor to our group.”
Complex Leaders
Greg Achten will be joining UBS Wealth Management Americas next month after nearly 30 years at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, where he was a managing director of the Boston complex. At UBS, he is set to take on the role of Cincinnati complex manager.
Achten began his career in 1987 with Merrill Lynch in an operations management training program in Cincinnati. He went on to become a manager at the firm’s complex in Dearborn, Michigan, and a financial advisor.
He later served as a producing manager of Merrill’s Dearborn location, a regional sales manager in Dallas, complex director for Oklahoma operations based in Tulsa, leader of the Ohio Valley Complex and managing director for the firm’s Indiana business.
Bank of America-U.S. Trust named Paul Reilly as managing director, division executive of its central north division, including Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Minnesota. Reilly will be based in Chicago and report to Keith Banks, U.S. Trust president.
Reilly was previously with BofA-owned Merrill Lynch, where he was a managing director and head of the central region.
In other news, Dynasty Financial Partners opened the Network Swag Store, so its affiliated advisors can order items like sweatshirts, canvas bags, pen sets, golf clubs and baby gifts with their firm logos for client and other events, conferences and gifts.
