Snowden Lane Partners has reeled in a $150 million advisor team from Merrill Lynch in San Antonio, Texas.
The new team, Strategic Management Group, is led by former Merrill Lynch advisor Larry Barocas, and also includes Debbie Ury, who was an analyst and relationship manager at Merrill, according to a statement from Snowden Lane.
The San Antonio office marks Snowden Lane’s ninth location in the U.S., according to the statement.
Barocas has been with Merrill Lynch since 2009, and before that was registered with UBS and Salomon Smith Barney, according to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) records. Before starting his career as an advisor in 1998, he was a tax attorney specializing in M&A and cross border transactions, according to the Snowden Lane statement. He had also previously been a senior economic advisor to the United Nations’ economic development program.
Ury had been with Merrill since 1981, according to the statement from Snowden and FINRA records.
